At long last – my photography workshop for beginners is in the books!!

Here’s the deal friends…you paid all of that cash for a fancy camera and you still don’t know how to use half of its functions! Going from shooting auto to manual mode can be scary but that is what separates the pros from the amateurs.  If you are beginning to charge clients for photo shoots but are still spending tons of time fixing each image in Photoshop then you need to be at this workshop! A small investment in your skill has the potential to yield increased profit for your business – at any skill level.

Here is what we do on a rainy Monday at the offices of Shay Cochrane Photography

One of my wonderful couples is getting married in Naples next month and I just finished up a fun little guest book album from their engagement session that I wanted to share with you!  You see, the “problem” (wink wink)  is that you end up with just too many fabulous shots from your e-session that you want to share but too many printed and framed images, even on your wedding day, can start to look a bit creepy/shrine-ish. So, many of my couples opt for this super fun and classy way to share all of those fun images with the use of a guest book album!

A typical guest book album has a custom image cover where one of the images from the session is printed on canvas and wraps around the cover from back to front.  When opened, the page spreads lay flat on the table and each image (usually 20 total) has its own page with plenty of white space for guests to write their well wishes!  The best part about it is that after the wedding day has come and gone, instead of your typical guest book ending up in a box or on a shelf, your custom layflat guest book becomes your own personalized album for your own coffee table!  I love it!  Take a peak!

It’s getting late and I am utterly exhausted from two fabulous days in Orlando for the Images for a Cure conference hosted by the incredibly talented Kristen Weaver and an onslaught of other crazy talented pros but before I jet out of town for the next few days I wanted to throw two images on the blog from one of today’s shoots.  I really can’t take any credit – these images are gorgeous only because of the incredible modeling, hair, makeup, wardrobe, lighting and team effort of Kristen and her fabulous possy.  I will be sure to post an update later with all of the vendor info that went into the day but for now, take a peak at our shoot with Hope, a model who is as genuinely sweet as she is beautiful:)

Apart from meeting all of these fabulous people the second highlight of the day was getting to hold a pair of Christian Louboutins. long sigh.
