There’s nothing quite like friends…
shaynicole on Nov 23rd 2010
A few days ago we spent the evening over dinner with our sweet friends the Proffitts. Before dinner we managed to fit in a little “speed session” meaning we smashed a family shoot, a 2.5 year old shoot and an itsy bitsy couples session into about 15 minutes as the sun went down:) We moved out here almost two years ago with the Proffitts and to say that we love them would be an understatement…at this point…I think we pretty much qualify as family:)

Allie rocks it! *Tampa Portrait Photography*
shaynicole on Nov 20th 2010
A few weeks ago Corinne, a FL family and child photographer, drove all the way out to Wesley Chapel for a one-on-one workshop on natural lighting and exposure. I somehow convinced my sweet friend Allie to model for us which meant pulling her out of bed for a 7:00am Saturday morning shoot in freeeeezing weather (yes – it DOES get cold here in FL….well….cold to us!) The cold weather just gave me the excuse to dress her up in lots of fun colorful layers. Allie was AMAZING and such an incredible sport hanging out with us for hours on end as we covered how to shoot in backlighting, harsh front lighting and deep shade. Somebody needs to give this girl a modeling contract – I think her eyes were so pretty they almost broke my lens:) Here are just a few of my favs from the backlighting portion of the workshop!
**If you are interested in being a part of future workshops just shoot me an e-mail to info@shaycochrane.com and I will let you know when another one is schedule. I love the chance to meet other photographers and am so happy to share what (little) info I know:)

A little something to love!!
shaynicole on Nov 17th 2010
I LOVE LOVE LOVE when a couple will throw tradition to the wind and incorporate something original and unique as a part of their wedding day. Occasionally, I come across an idea that I just adore and have to pass on and this is one of those ideas! If you have checked out Green Wedding Shoes lately (a MUST for you brides who love a vintage and unique flare) then you have seen Jen’s recent post about the newest trend in vintage brooch bouquets! L.O.V.E !!!
Bride’s can collect vintage brooches from places like flea markets, thrift stores, estate sales, Etsy and even incorporate pieces from grandma’s jewelry collection that hold special meaning. Some brides will ask for a vintage brooch from each of their bridal shower guests. The best part is that everyone who contributes has a special part in your wedding day attire and the bouquet is yours to keep and display forever! I just love this idea!
Here are a few of the awesome vintage brooch bouquets featured recently on the Green Wedding Shoes blog!
I LOVE the idea of incorporating feathers seen here in a wedding photographed by Last Forty Percent Photography.

Love the complimentary shades of blue and green in this bouquet photographed by Jonathan Canlas.

Fabulously bright and cheerful bouquet shot by Brenton Salo Photography .

More fabulous brooch bouquets…I love that you really can showcase your own wedding color palette and how unique and personalized you can make them!

Photos above by Green Apple Photography, Paige Newton, and Tina Sargeant (Fabulous mention Tina!! Congrats!!)
Of course, if you are short on the time, or patience to create your own you can also have one of these gorgeous bouquets custom made for you!! As Jen shared “Amanda at Fantasy Floral Designs credits herself as the original creater of the brooch boquet and she can create one of her lovely bouquets for you.”

Noaki Jewelry also creates stunning bouquets like the one below!

The moment you have been waiting for!!!
shaynicole on Nov 7th 2010
Ladies and gentleman… (p.s don’t think that I don’t realize that at this point you have already looked down the page at the names of the winners…haha…just humor me) ahhm….Ladies and gentleman….the moment you have all been waiting for…it was an incredibly close race with more then 28, 000 votes cast. Both first and second place couples had over 7,000 votes a piece which was head and shoulders above the rest (those are some loyal voting friends right there!!!). The VERY close margin between the first and second couple has left me with no other choice (I am not cold hearted afterall) but to declare BOTH couples the winner – each receiving a free couples shoot!!!
The winners are…
Carly Stamey and Bobby Grennes
AND
Allison Shockley and J.R Mondell
BUT WAIT!!!! Thats not all!!! I have to applaud the voting efforts of the rest of the couples involved and I SO wish that every couple could win (I don’t think I realized how sad I would be that not everyone could win!) so to try to make all of your efforts worth it I will give all of the other couples who entered %25 off of the complete digital engagement session package!
I hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I did! I know all of the couples appreciate the votes of all of their friends and family!
Congrats winners!!! I will be in touch to schedule!
