Ok, as promised I wanted to post a few of the fun images from Melissa and Matt’s wedding at the Octagonal Barn at the Frontier Culture Ranch in Staunton, VA. Their wedding had all the fixin’s of a proper southern wedding from the sweet tea and BBQ sandwiches to the cowboy boots that the groomsmen wore with their tuxes! My favorite “southern touch” was when they combined Mason jars of dirt from their respective home towns instead of doing the typical unity candle lighting. After all of the weddings that I see it is always refreshing when couples choose to do their own thing with the special nuances of their big day! It was such a privilege to get to know these guys and to be a part of their wedding day!

So, I am here in San Diego, CA for one week at the incredible conference that I have been waiting months for! I would write more about how much I have already learned today and how much fun we had but I am too utterly exhausted…so I am simply going to post a few of my favorite images from the day. Enjoy!

Ok – It is going to take me at least two posts to share the fun pictures with you from Melissa and Matt’s wedding last weekend. For starters I wanted to show you guys some of the awesome shots we got of Melissa before the ceremony. Yea, so maybe it was ridiculously windy and the sun was glaring right down on us but Melissa would still look like a million dollars even in a windstorm!! As I go through the wedding images I will put together a set of the rest of the wedding day to put up hopefully by the end of the week but I just had to share these!!

I cannot even begin to say enough about this awesome couple. They booked their wedding with me what feels like ages ago and by the time their wedding finally came around, I feel like we have gone from strangers to friends. These guys are an incredibly humble, sweet, caring and talented couple. They were married on November 1st in Richmond, VA at an absolutely beautiful ceremony and reception joined by family and friends. One highlight of the reception was the photo booth that they had rented – so much fun! From start to finish it was a very fun and classy event – from the trolley ride to the jelly bean candy bar at the reception – Katie had put her artistic touch on every detail!  Here are a few fun shots from the day!
