There are LOTS of new and exciting things just around the corner for Shay Cochrane Photography and it is finally time to give you a little peak at some of these new changes…A BRAND NEW LOGO!!!

One thing that has been in the works around here is a totally redesigned business identity… a face lift if you will.  In the weeks and months to come you can expect to see a new website design, along with brand new business cards and all sorts of other fun goodies thanks to the help of my awesome friend and talented graphic designer, Andy Spray!   Lots more to come!  Check back often – I love to hear your comments!!

As promised…here are a few shots of the newest edition to the Proffitt family!  Ashlee and I really thought that we had this whole newborn photo-shoot thing in the bag.  We had learned from our mistakes with Drew (now over a year old – holy cow) and we had literally planned this shoot out months before Aaden was even set to arrive.  Well, needless to say – things with newborns just never go according to plan and there is some kind of Murphy’s Law that says that even if a baby is 2 days old and sleeps 24 hours a day – when you get your camera out – they will be awake!!    We did manage to get a handful of cute shots though.  Oh well, I guess there is always the next one:)

Who says that the newly engaged couples should have all the fun?! Alex and Christine just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary in September and thought that this would be the perfect time to do a shoot! They drove all the way back to Christine’s Alma Mater (Go Dukes!) for the session. We started out with a more formal set on campus but I had a few tricks up my sleeve for a really fun second location! These guys were so cute together (The fact that they have been friends for almost 9 years definitely shows!) This shoot was a ton of fun and…I’m not going to lie…possibly one of my favorite couples shoots yet:)

Kelly and Wes tied the knot on the evening of October 4th at Mountfair Resort Farm in Crozet, VA. This was such a fun and super laid back couple to photograph (which always makes my job easier!). Not to mention, the weather and views at their beautiful mountain location were absolutely gorgeous. You could not have asked for a more perfect day! These guys and their whole bridal party were a ton of fun and every detail of this wedding from the food to the favors – added to the simple elegance of the event. Kelly and Wes dated for long time and family came all the way from South America to celebrate with them as they started their married life together! Enjoy this sneak peak at a few (ok – a lot) of my favorite images from the day. Kelly and Wes, you guys are two incredible people and I wish you a super blessed marriage!

These girls were a riot!

Despite the tons of other photo work that I need to finish, I was so in love with this morning’s shoot that I just had to get some of these up here! I go to spend the morning feeding ducks, singing songs, climbing trees and playing in the leaves with this charming little guy! Doesn’t he look like he walked right off of the cover of a Pottery Barn Kids Magazine?! It was an absolute pleasure to meet this sweet boy and his mom. Enjoy this little sneak peak at some of my favorites from this morning’s shoot!

Yesterday afternoon I got to spend a few minutes photographing maternity portraits for a close friend. This awesome woman is literally about to pop. In fact, as you are reading this she may even be in labor. We both had our fingers crossed that the baby would hold off just one more day so that we could get some maternity shots for her second pregnancy. What was so special though was that I got to photograph her with her little boy Drew in what is the last few days of him being her only child. It was so special to be able to capture this mommy-and-me time before the whirlwind of a second child comes into the picture. Geez…I am even tearing up! haha. We cannot wait to help them welcome their second precious little boy into the world and we have been blessed to be a part of the very brief moment in time that these images represent.

I know, I know, the leaves are only just beginning to change, we have hardly had time to carve a pumpkin or pull our winter clothes down from the attic but alas, it is time to start thinking about your holiday family portrait and get a head start on Christmas shopping!
