Why I love kids…

shaycochrane on Aug 19th 2008

So two days ago I photographed the wedding of a few good friends, Kathryn and Alan, from Aletheia. I promise that I will write a ton more about their beautiful Staunton wedding when I put up their full wedding post but I have been so tickled by these two images that I just had to get them up here! These guys were put in charge of handing out programs (as a team) at the wedding. I cannot tell you how excited I got when they all walked off the trolley (rented out to take guests around downtown Staunton!). Too cute for words. I just love it! Despite the looks on their faces they really were great sports and very entertaining! The thing that I love the most is that at any given moment kids just are who they are.  They are the perfect model of transparency for better or worse – no apologies.  We could learn a thing or two…Geez don’t you just love these guys:)

New things on the horizon!

shaycochrane on Aug 15th 2008

There are going to be a lot of exciting new changes to Shay Cochrane Photography over the next year – but I wanted to share one specific one with you that I am really excited about!  Somehow (by God’s grace)  I am going to get the opportunity to be a part of what is possibly one of the coolest photography workshops of all time.  (Thats right – of all time!)  For one full week this November I will be going to San Diego, CA with 40 other women to be a part of the Love Affair Workshop!  The premise of “Love Affair” is basically that us women have a lot of “loves” in our lives…we love our husbands, our kids, photography etc.  and it is often hard to balance those things in a way that allows us to excel at all of them and keep ourselves out of a creative rut!  It will be about developing our style and challenging our creativity and running a business and I am so stinkin excited I can hardly wait!!!  From the other women that I have talked to about this conference it has completely changed their art and their business in amazing ways!  Here are a few images of what the past conference was like from their website (Images Copyright Love Affair 08).  If you happen to want to see more about this incredible worshop you can click on the link below!  I can hardly do it justice in this post!

Mrs. Tiffany

shaycochrane on Aug 8th 2008

Here is a look at some of the shots taken a few months ago at Mrs. Tiffany’s bridal session. It was very special for her to be able to do the portraits on her parent’s land so we trecked all over the place – Tiffany was such a sport with her dress hiked up walking all over the yard, by the lake, behind the house and finally, with her dad’s pride and joy – the restored Charger which also served as her get away car at the wedding!

Tiffany and Jamie

shaycochrane on Aug 5th 2008

Tiffany and Jamie tied the knot last weekend at the JMU Arboretum and had a beautiful reception at the Festival Center Ballroom. Despite the constant threat of thunderstorms, the day turned out to be absolutely perfect! I have loved getting to know these two and was privileged to even photograph Tiffany’s bridal portraits earlier this summer (I will put few a of those up soon!)  They are a genuinely sweet couple and I am so excited for them! I am just starting to sort through the pictures from the weekend but I wanted to give you guys a little preview at some of my favorites!
